IA Adds Manufacturing Space to Meet Increased Demand
ROCHESTER NY: May 21, 2006 Induction Atmospheres (IA), a leading manufacturer of customized industrial heating equipment, has added an additional 6,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space to meet increasing demand for its products.
The additional space will be used for machining and assembly of the company's turnkey induction heating systems. “We were really getting cramped”, says Dale Wilcox, IA Vice President for Engineering. “We’ve added more work cells and increased our in-house machining capability, which allows us to further improve quality, reduce lead times and cut costs.”
IA heating systems are most often used for industrial applications such as metal brazing and heat treating. With the current expansion, IA now occupies 16,000 sq. ft of space in the Rochester Technology Park in Gates, NY. The company started in 2002 with just 4,000 sq. ft. and four employees. Current employment is now over 15.
While many other domestic companies are reducing capacity, IA employees take great pride in their work and success. The American flag is proudly displayed on the wall of the manufacturing floor, and Wilcox is contemplating the use of a “Made In USA” sticker for their finished systems.
IA is the only independently-owned industrial heating system integrator working solely with induction heating technology a non-contact, fast and accurate heating method which saves manufacturers space, time and money. IA has developed strong working relationships with Fortune 500 customers in the medical, aerospace and automotive industries; clients include GE, GM, Siemens, Lufthansa Technik, Taiwan Power, Boston Scientific, NASA, the US Army and Navy.
